Alsager

The precise part of Alsager to be used is to be confirmed, but will include the town centre.

This is a mid-week evening event - start at 6:30 pm. Bring a pen and a high-visibility top (some spare tops will be available).

Start and car Parking for Orienteering at the main car park, behind the Civic Centre. There are two sets of traffic lights in the town centre: from the east, via Talke/Kidsgrove, turn right at the first set; from the west, via the M6 junction 16, turn left at the second set. The car park entrance is then on the right. This is a free car park.

Afterwards, meet at (provisionally) the Plough Inn, Crewe Rd. This is a Fayre Square pub, on the west edge of the town at about 1.5 k.

Central Forest Park "O" Challenge

A FREE event to mark the opening of a Permanent Orienteering Course and part of the City of Stoke on Trent Walking Festival.

We supply an attractive coloured map specially drawn for this event, and as much help as you need. You can navigate around yourself and take your time looking for easier to find posts, or prove yourself against the clock by finding them all. This is a fun challenge for all ages and abilities who enjoy the open air.

You can have extra help as we will have guided walks to show you how to find some of the marker posts. These will start at 11:00 am, 12:00 pm and 1:30 pm

From Town Road in Hanley take the B5049 (Chell Street) towards Smallthorne. After about 800 m turn left into the car park.

Biddulph Grange Country Park

Park at the Country Park car park. Turn off the A527 Tunstall-Congleton road 1·5 km from the North end of the Biddulph bypass, into Grange Road (turn right if approaching from the South, left if from the North) following the signpost to the Country Park. After 350 m turn right; do not turn into the adjacent National Trust Gardens area which will be passed before the Country Park.
